Gerald Kersh (1911 - 1968) was born and educated in England; he died penniless as an American citizen in New York.

He was a prolific writer who wrote some 19 novels, including Brain and Ten Fingers (1943), The Song of the Flea (1948), The Thousand Deaths of Mr Small (1951), and The Implacable Hunter (1961).
