Happy birthday to Bean! He's 2 years old today - that magical milestone when the Staffordshire Bull Terrier breed books say he'll have reached full mental maturity. While he is pretty smart and (almost always) obedient, his alter-ego, Ug the cave dog, still seems to be making just as many appearances as always.
Bean tried to keep his birthday a secret; after all, in human years he's fast heading towards 30. He did get some presents from a few select people: a bag of fresh lamb hearts, a whole chicken and a new silver name & address tag to hang on his collar.
